"Your physical organism is one continuous process with everything else that's going on. Just as the waves are continuous with the ocean, your body is continuous with the total energy system of the cosmos, and it's all you, only you're playing this game that you're only this bit of it... but there are in physical reality no such things as separate events." - Alan Watts.

"Triumphant return for ex-Pork and Fila Brazillia crew. Essential genre smashing songs and instrumentals." - Andrew Jervis / Bandcamp. "The Cutler, the electronic duo of Steve Cobby and Dave Brennand, aka Pork, are back with a wonderful new LP" - The 405. "I'm listening to the new album and it's amazing. How the f*ck do you lot manage to create music that is so deep, so funky, so heavy and so moving. It's overwhelmingly powerful stuff". - Nick Faber.
What a brimful of electronic bubbliness this is, brought to you by Steve Cobby and the Pork-ster 'RealName' Dave Brennand. Having been around several blocks the duo are intent on rebuilding systems through 12 tracks mixing Sticklebricks, Lego and Meccano, or their musical equivalents if you get my drift? Everything Is Touching Everything Else pretty much sums up as elements of funk, dub, downtempo, [insert other(s)] fuse into an effervescent rolling mass." - Louder Than War. You can see the full review on the 'Louder Than War' website.
"The Cutler LP is best described as a beautiful record that fuses a whole range of different sounds into a brooding electronic journey." - Extra Music New. "That's a delicious dollop, mate" - Greg Belson. "A great album...as for Cobby, the man is a genius!" - Ashley Beedle.
In June 2013 DJ Josef Sedloň created an 18 track playlist containing nothing but The Cutler for his show on Radio 1 (Czechoslovakia).

The second album from The Cutler, The Best Things In Life Aren't Things is a paean to the spiritual, an exultation in a time of über materialistic thinking, railing against the state of the capitalist system and the grotesque behaviour of bankers, and suggesting The West needs to look elsewhere for its kicks.

Amazing stuff!" - Savvas (Sprawl Zone Radio, Greece) The Cutler album sounding effing superb sir! - @DJShepdog "Thanx mate this is amazing lots of top feedback 10/10" - DJ Dino
"It's a really beautiful record that fuses a whole range of different sounds into a mellow quasi-electronic journey through hip IDM, raw funk, brooding electronica and jazzy guitar grooves. This particular cut (Sync Estate) is a straight up laid-back disco instrumental that works its ass off in the deep. These guys are a real breath of fresh air, highly recommend checking them out!" - Disco Delicious
"I can't tell you much about the Cutler beyond what you can read on their website yourself, other than that their latest, The Best Things in Life Aren't Things, is a stone cold groove, baby. Jazzy/funky instruments, cymbal-ic percussion and Charlie Brown sounding vocal samples? Yes, please." - Les Enfants Terribles
"I'm familiar with Fila Brazilia, but wooooooow, thanks for introducing me to The Cutler! i have never heard of them before, but after hearing a few seconds of "Nightbirds", I just had to purchase the entire album! then I heard "That's How I Feel Inside" and that song made me feel so good I just wanted to go out and slap somebody! hahahaha. Actually, now I can't really decide which is my favorite track. I also like "200 Pharaohs 6 Billion Slaves" and "Burn The Bankers" and "Sync Estate", that funk came out of nowhere! Love it. anyway.......i just wanted to say thank you because they are bringing me happiness right now and I don't feel quite so bad or lonely being up at this time because they are giving me eargasms at 3:13AM!" - Gypsy, Human Pets, Sept 2012
"Staying in the UK, and after a three year hiatus, we are finally treated to some brand new music from Steve Cobby (Fila Brazillia) and Porky (Pork Recordings) AKA The Cutler. Now, if Fila Brazillia or Pork Recordings don't mean a lot to our younger readers then that's because their output has been pretty thin on the ground for the past few years, but trust these older ears when I tell you that these were two of the most important acts and labels of the electronic scene, lazily referred to as 'trip hop', that there was. Having The Cutler back on our radar is a real treat. Unashamed downtempo loveliness that's had people like Rob Da Bank getting very excited indeed. The album, cunningly entitled "The Best Things In Life Aren't Things" is a lush collection of cuts that range from proper songs with vocalists Russell Morgan and Andrew Taylor, to instrumental excursions. With one foot in the 90s perhaps, but the other well and truly in the present this album harks back to our previous golden age of electronic music, whilst offering the current crop something to think about!" - Dom Servini (August edition of Echoes Mag)
whatpeoplesay / Studiotalk
Steve Cobby gave a description of the production-side process for some (P-A-Y-R, Revolution, and Black Sheep) of the tracks from TBTILAT to the 'whatpeoplesay' blog. "whatpeoplesay is a blog project centering around all kinds of actual electronic and alternative music... a playground to share thoughts and information about the music we love."

"An eccentric musical adventure"- Matt Annis (Editor iDJ).
"Fantastic album!!! I hate to say it (as it sort of discredits the freshness of this album when really it shouldn't) but it sounds like the perfect continuation of the Fila Brazillia sound after Cobby/McSherry (officially? unofficially?) disbanded. But with Pork's added edge. The King is dead, long lives the King!" - Monsieur Le Fevre, Amazon.
"Simply one of the best 'undiscovered' albums of recent years - I thought no one could hold a candle to Underworld but along came Cutler and they did! Its a permanent addition to my Zen. If you like your music DJ then this is about as good as it gets." - M. Hay, Amazon. "Face it, when the guy who masterminded Pork Recordings gets together with its most creative musician it's not going to be average. Put simply this is 62 minutes of ubercool music, if you loved Pork Recordings this is for you." - Fatboy, Amazon. "Absolutely fantastic album, would highly recommend it to anyone. It has a bit of something in it for everyone. An original, imaginative & constructive masterpiece that will take you on a magical journey of musical exploration and creativity... wonderful! :-)" - A. Dickson, Amazon.
The Cutler - Stiletto
Stiletto is track 2 on Cutler, the first album by The Cutler
"The Cutler........they produce the kind of easy yet epic and edgy (entertaining, esoteric, extraordinary and exceedingly good would have simply been too many Es for a Thursday afternoon) type of tracks that Pork have been excelling at for years" - Chrome Kids, 2008
